Ce california dog se compose de crudités coupées en bâtonnets ou en rondelles pour le concombre, d'une saucisse et d'une sauce au cheddar. Pour la sauce : dans une casserole, déposez 20g de beurre, ajoutez 20g de farine, bien mélanger, ajoutez 12 cl de lait. Ajoutez 4 tranches de fromage fondu cheddar, bien mélanger de nouveau.
